Description
Epitalon, also spelled epithalon, is about as small as a research peptide gets: four residues and a mass of 390.35 g/mol.
Epitalon 10 mg, a four-residue synthetic peptide
The sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly was designed as a synthetic counterpart to an extract of the pineal gland studied in Russia from the 1980s onward. With two acidic residues out of four it is strongly negatively charged, very water-soluble and elutes early on reversed-phase HPLC, which means purity methods often use a shallow gradient near the start of the run.
Most of the literature comes from cell culture and animal models, notably work on telomerase activity in cultured cells. Much of it originates from a small number of research groups, and independent replication is limited, which is worth weighing when designing studies around it.

Questions about Epitalon 10mg
Is it Epitalon or Epithalon?
Both spellings refer to the same AEDG tetrapeptide.
Why does epitalon elute so early on HPLC?
It is short and highly polar, so it interacts only weakly with a C18 column.
What strength is available?
10 mg per vial, with quantity breaks from two vials.
